- Because certain key features would be missing when Windows 11 debuts, developers felt compelled to sweeten the deal.
- Officials from Redmond have stated that the new 2023 Office suite will be available on October 5th, the same day as the next OS.
- A new translation tool in Outlook, better speed throughout the applications, and a redesigned sketch tab are among the new improvements.
- In terms of cost, the service will cost you $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year, but you may choose a different subscription plan.
If you’re not a fan of the subscription-based Microsoft 365, there’s some good news on the way.
On the 5th of October, Microsoft will release a completely new consumer edition of the Office suite, which will be available for a one-time purchase, along with Windows 11.
This was revealed in a blog post by the Redmond tech behemoth on Thursday, and users were ecstatic.
The new Office suite is released at the same time as the new operating system.
Microsoft has not released any more information regarding this product, such as price, but has issued a paper outlining the new capabilities in the Office suite.
A new translation feature in Outlook, better performance throughout the applications, and an updated sketch tab were also included by the developers.
This new edition of Office is an alternative to Microsoft 365, the cloud-based version of Office.
Consumers may subscribe to the service for $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year, but an ongoing membership can add up quickly.
Microsoft has been promoting Microsoft 365 as an alternative to the non-subscription Office suite for many years.
This prompted concerns about the company’s plans to phase out traditional Office products in the future.
Last year, though, Redmond officials announced that a replacement to Office 2019 will be released in the second half of 2023 for both Windows and Mac.
Users will have to wait a few more weeks for this new suite of applications, but in the meanwhile, Microsoft has chosen to start offering business clients the commercial-grade version, called Microsoft Office Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC).
While this will not be our last perpetual release, we will continue to make efforts to make Microsoft 365 adoption even simpler for clients.
Microsoft claims it will continue to provide non-subscription Office for at least one more generation, according to the same blog post we cited earlier in this story.
Isn’t this fantastic news? We realize how essential and helpful these apps are to many of you, so we can appreciate your entuziasm.
The silver lining is that the wait will be short, since October 5th is just a few weeks away.
